Liebherr’s Latest 50-Meter Concrete Pump With The Max. Capacity Of 163m³/h!

As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of construction machinery, Liebherr has a history of 70 years, especially in excavators, lifting machinery, concrete machinery, Liebherr has a high market position. At the Bauma exhibition in Munich, Germany in 2019, it joined forces with Heidelberg Cement, one of the world’s largest cement producers, to create the latest 50-meter concrete pump -50 M5 XXT.

It is currently the longest concrete pump of Liebherr. This time it was built with a Volvo FMX 460 10×4 5-axle chassis, and it uses “Heidelberg Green” as the main color of the vehicle and the boom. The outriggers and delivery pipes are gray. Beautiful looking!

Power System

This Volvo chassis is equipped with a D13K460 model with a displacement of 12.8L. The maximum output is 460hp and the peak output torque is 2300 N·m. The drive system is equipped with Volvo I-Shift gearbox with the emission standard Euro V. Among the 5 axles, the 1st, 2nd, and 5th axles are steered, which can greatly reduce the turning radius of the vehicle.

Volvo trucks have a clear positioning of its products. The logistics tractors belong to the FH and FM series, while the special vehicle chassis is the FMX series. In fact, many well-known concrete machinery manufacturers have used the Volvo FMX chassis to build concrete pumps and truck mixers and mixer pumps.

The pump uses a VX-type outrigger type with multi-section front outriggers that swing rearward. so that the center of gravity of the whole concrete pump is closer to the center of the vehicle.

Boom Section

It adopts a traditional RZ-type boom structure that provides a 5-section arm design. Its maximum vertical pumping height is 49.1 meters, the maximum horizontal pumping distance is 44.4 meters with the standard DN125 delivery pipes.

Pumping System

The theoretical maximum pumping displacement of the vehicle under low pressure is 163 cubic meters of concrete per hour.

Compared with the long-boom concrete pumps of Zoomlion and Sany, it has a larger chassis. With the same 5-axle chassis, Zoomlion already made a 63-meter concrete pump. However, more axles provide better stability.
